The 8 Laws of Health

The world is flooded with information out there.

There is a lot of competing and contradicting information.

Where do you even begin start?

My aim is to keep it simple.

No pill, supplement, diet, health hack or next best thing is your complete remedy.

We need to take a step away from all the hype around marketed products and trends to really try understand what the basis of health entails and take it from there, one step at a time.

I am not saying that you do not need supplements etc. What I am saying is make sure you are doing the basics correctly before tweaking and adding things into your lifestyle.

Based on the information that I choose to feed my mind with, which has proven itself over and over, this is what I truly believe to be the sustainable, timeless, truthful, simple answer.

Health is not only being content, but also preserving and improving ones physical, mental and spiritual state.

It is also the ability to reverse and restore that which has been lost through damage, which by reimplementing better choices and the 8 natural health laws back into your life can bring back balance and rejuvenation.

We need to understand that some damage we have done, may be far beyond repair however the effects of these laws are able to improve your overall quality of life and help manage which ever situation you may find yourself in.

For the sake of keeping this an easy read, I will do separate more in-depth posts on each law in the future.

It can only do you good, so let’s get into them:

  1. Water

  2. Exercise

  3. Pure Air

  4. Rest

  5. Sunshine

  6. Nutrition

  7. Temperance

  8. Trust Divine Power

Water

Vital for life.

You can go without food for a while but you cannot survive without water.

Mistreat your house plant by not giving it water and see how it withers away.

We are far more complex than plants and water is a key factor to our many bodily functions.

Water is needed to hydrate us deep into our cells.

It is the fluid in our organs and tissues that are essential for things to function properly.

Our bodies are made up of 70% water so we need to keep the tank full.

Imagine your body is a factory with different departments and sections.

The whole team needs to be fully productive and operational.

They need water breaks, throughout the day.

How many people suffer from headaches during the day and don't realize its due to dehydration? Tons of people, and these same people might be dependent on caffeinated drinks to help them get through the day too which further dehydrates.

It’s a vicious cycle.

Exercise

If you don’t use it, you lose it.

Muscle has no age and the key to aging gracefully is to keep active and keep your body moving.

You need to do what you can with your individual situation and capabilities.

Something is better than nothing but here are some really good options that you can do with and without expensive equipment:

-        Walking, jogging

-        Pushups

-        Squatting

-        Swimming

-        Skipping

-        Rebounding

-        High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Its good to try and have something which is all round getting your body to move in the following key movements/actions to target different forms of momentum:

-        Push

-        Pull

-        Getting low to the ground (Squatting)

-        Lifting above your head

-        A form of cardio to get your heart rate up

-        Core engagement

-        Stretching

If you struggle to do certain exercises, or if you are going heavy with weights make sure your form is correct. A strong core is key to a good posture and back health.

Rebounding targets every single cell in your body with each jump/bounce which activates your Lymphatic system, strengthens your muscles and makes your bones more dense.

HIIT training releases HGH which is a hormone which preserves youthfulness and keeps you lean and toned. You only need a short amount of time to do a workout so if time is something you feel you do not have, then 15minutes a day is great!

If you are feeling drained and tired, then exercise is your answer.

Where there is oxygen and blood, there is life.

More oxygen = more energy, more blood flow.

Pure Air

Oxygen is another vital element needed for life.

By exercising, you are boosting yourself with a fresh intake and allowing your body to expel impurities.

Our cities and industrial areas are polluted with smog and nasties which are damaging to us. Within our very own households, the chemicals we spray in our homes to kill, comfort and clean are loaded with toxins which accumulate somewhere in us.

They don’t just vanish into this air.

Rest

Nothing beats a good nights rest when we are exhausted from a long day of work, stress, physical strain, when recovering from sickness or an emotional event.

Rest is a huge factor when it comes to health and wellbeing and often overlooked.

We need around 8 hours of sleep every night for our brain to release hormones, clean itself, transfer the days data and rejuvenate.

Please refer to my more detailed article about sleep over here.

Sunshine

Our source of Vitamin D.

Did you know that more people suffer from a Vitamin D deficiency than they do from a Calcium deficiency?

Your body is unable to access calcium if you don’t have enough vitamin D.

Vitamin D is key to your bodies natural healing process and essential for recovery and assimilation of daily essential bodily functions.

Did you know that you can wash vitamin D off your skin when you use soap after exposure? You need to allow the Vit D to absorb into your body for about 2 hours after exposure. It gets stored in your fat cells under the skin.

With the revolution of cancers, skin cancer boomed the sales of sunblock.

Sunblock does what it says, it blocks the sun, and its essential UV rays.

When doing this, your body is deprived of an essential ingredient which is needed in the mix which enter through the eyes and skin.

The correct way of sun exposure is to slowly build up tolerance in the cooler months when the sun is not as harsh so that when your hotter months arrive, your skin has a way of protecting itself from burning.

20min a day is a good amount.

Nutrition

We get minerals, vitamins, nutrients from the food we eat.

You get clean sources which are pure and whole foods from nature and you get sources that give off more waste than anything else.

Our food choices are important and we should be eating natural, colourful, vibrant, nutrient dense foods which feed, sustain and replenish our bodies rather than highly processed, fatty foods that are high in refined ingredients, preservatives and artificial ingredients.

We need to eat a balanced meal high in building blocks (protein), rich in omega (fats) and some sustenance (complex carbs in moderation).

Temperance

This is not letting anything enter the body that is harmful and taking in that which is good in small amounts.

Im sure we have all heard the saying “too much of a good thing is bad”, well it is true.

We can over do the good things too.

Its about self-control and moderation.

Trust Divine Power

Miracles do happen and when we are doing all that we can to heal ourselves, it’s important to remember who we are and that we are not in control of the bigger picture.

By trusting in God’s divine power and ability to heal, we are giving each one of the laws that extra edge.

It is a blessing to have access to healthy, nourishing food, clean water and air.

Having the ability to wake up each day being able to move our bodies around graciously to exercise, walk in nature and enjoy spending time in the sunshine, exercising self-control, having the peace of mind going to rest in the evenings with a roof over our heads and a warm, safe bed to sleep in.

Its important to be thankful for what we have and to nurture it.

We all have a different medical history, lifestyles, traumas, financial situations, DNA defects, life challenges and circumstances.

The solutions to our issues may be simple, or they may be far more complex.

There may be reversible damage as well as irreversible damage.

No matter what the situation you find yourself in, by implementing these 8 laws on their own on in conjunction with other treatments, you provide yourself with measures to either improve, reverse, better manage.

The 8 laws are the true remedies when it comes to health.

I hope you find this simple information motivating to you to manage your lifestyle in a more mindful way to better your life and the life of your loved ones.
